About Us

The Merino Locker is a small home based business in Gore, New Zealand making Merino clothing and accessories for little people.

I come from a family of talented sewers, with my mum and grandma regularly sewing for me and my brother when we were growing up.  I have fond memories of opening boxes of clothes that Grandma Rita had sewn for us, and dressing in matching clothes, with our cousins, for photos modelling our clothing with the special label "Made with love by Grandma" inside them.

Now, years later, the label inside the clothes has changed to "The Merino Locker", I'm the one doing the sewing, and its my kids who love seeing what new clothes I have made for them!

My aim with this little business is to provide unique, colourful, reasonably priced, and well made merino clothes for little people aged 0-6 years.  All the designing, cutting, sewing, printing and selling is done by me, although on occasion mum is roped in to help with some production line sewing bee's and accessory making  (Thanks mum, you are a lifesaver often).

I travel regularly to markets and events around southern New Zealand, so I hope to see some of you out and about.
